Two Ways to Tie Lease Sticks on the Loom

Two Ways to Tie Lease Sticks on the Loom

To tie each lease stick individually instead of together, tie a long string from one end of the stick to the other end. Tie each stick with its own string in this way so you can move them one at a time.

To tie lease sticks together, use a figure-eight tie

Insert the working end of the tie from the top down through the hole on one lease stick and then from the top down again through the hole on the other. Tie the ends of the string together so that the sticks are about 1″ apart. (I like to use a half-bow knot, which is very secure and quick to undo.) This figure-eight prevents the sticks from twisting on themselves.
