Making knots with arthritic fingers

I had a student the other day who had trouble tying the knots at the crosses and chock ties. I gave her lengths of shoelaces and she tied everything with ease.

I do love these ranunculas. Not like I had in my g I do love these ranunculas. Not like I had in my garden. I remember the man at the nursery called them “bird salad”!
Since the holidays I’ve been going to my favorit Since the holidays I’ve been going to my favorite florist about weekly getting a bouquet for a friend in the health center. Then picking up a few things for myself. “My” bouquets have gotten a litter nicer since I got roses for myself for Valentine’s Day. This week it’s pink lilies and ranunculas one of my favorites. I’ve just come to the conclusion that since I’ve gone to no concerts or restaurants for a whole year getting flowers for myself isn’t such a wild luxury as I thought. So I think I can continue. Whew!!

We didn’t get down to the ground to smell it but it is supposed to smell bad hence the fetid part of its name.  It’s also called Slink pod. The botanical name is scoliopus bigelovii.

We only found one plant that showed any red. I wonder why. I am thrilled we saw it. Last week Bob caught it with his macro lens for his iPhone. Otherwise I wouldn’t have known to look for it.
