This is the first warp I’ve made in years—I know my last warp was made before the pandemic. It felt good but almost like the first warp I ever made, somehow.

All the cross ties in. Check!

All the ties for the group cross for the raddle. Check!

All the choke ties in. Check!
Tomorrow I will load the raddle.
Peggy is this your own spun paper yarn ?
No, commerciall paper thread. Mine is for weft. I forgot to mention that! Will on the next post.

Where can people find the paper you used in your warp? Susan Byrd has been helping me improve my kami-ito (paper thread) and I plan to eventually spin my own warp when my skills are farther along, but I would like to weave moro-shifu (“true shifu” – both warp and weft are washi threads) before then. Right now I’m just weaving with the traditional silk or cotton warps.
I’m sorry I don’t kow. I’ve just been experimenting.

I and so impressed that this the first warp that you have made in many years. I thought that you made them often.

I’ve mainly done photography these years and texile things. and teaching a bit and weaving at Bob’s camp.
Good to be doing my own now.

Woo hoo- glad you are warping again. How does the paper thread handle?
I’ll tell you later!

Looks great 😃
Peggy, I can’t wait to see this on your loom and what you weave with your paper warp!
