My New Collage Hangings

I’ve been making hangings using my dyed fabrics. Indigo for blues, turmeric, saffron, and henna for yellows, green persimmons (kakishibu), for pinks and browns. There are 7 hangings. I’m showing one for reference and then detail photos. I loved putting the pieces together.

    • The persimmons need to be the variety that gets squishy when ripe. To use for dyeing you need them to be green, hard, and about the size of golf balls. I’m thinking about now in California. Go to http://www.kakishibui.com and get Chris Conrad’s book. that’s been my bible and she is very helpful with questions. Good luck!
